I did the same thing...bastards. They should retroactively update the greens so people like us don't get screwed. If i knew they were going to upgrade sundering, do you think I'd pay 35k for a 10/10 Drago Bow? Hell no!

Not true. Here are my calculations. Against a 100 AL target, you would have on average:

1.15*(15+22)/2*2^((60-100)/40)=10.6375 per hit without AP

and you would do on average:

1.15*(15+22)/2*2^((60-100*0.9)/40)=12.6502 per hit with 10% AP

and you would do on average:

1.15*(15+22)/2*2^((60-100*0.8)/40)=15.0437 per hit with 20% AP

Hence, with 10/10 sundering, you do:

(12.6502-10.6375)*0.1=0.2013 extra damage per hit on average

and with 20/20 sundering, you do:

(15.0437-10.6375)*0.2=0.8812 extra damage per hit on average

This is all assuming you have 12 in Swordsmanship.

Well excuse me for not being politically correct all the time.

I'm just a bit pissed of at Anet and NCsoft with the way they've handled this CE crap and now, 2 days after I buy drago's bow, oh, it's not updated with the 20/20 mod. GG you just wasted 35k.

And if bastard was a swear word, the filters would have picked it up, so lighten up.

I don't understand why all the frustration by everyone.
Everyone is crying because they *no longer* have the very absolute highest mod, or that their item they bought yesterday is now greatly reduced in price.

Did you guys think they were really going to put out stuff with the same lame assed mods in the expansion?
Or that your hard fought green item now has an upgraded version?
Greens were too plentiful to begin with. Greens should not be something that everyone and their brother have an abundance of. It should be something that is hard to get.

You guys should stop crying and be happy that you have something to accomplish now to get back your high and mighty MMORPG Social Status.

As for the nerfing of certain classes...Get over it.
With every patch there will be another build exploit.
The smart guys will be figuring out what the next uber build will be.
The rest of you whiners are the reason it will get nerfed in the next patch because you can't come up with anything on your own, and have to copy a build you see posted on the message boards.
So sit here and whine while you wait on someone to post what your next character build is going to be.

Bravo, ANet for making the game less boring for a little while longer.

just a game peoples.. and it just a dumb mod too. Not many use it that much. I would rather use the new 20% furious mod over sundering any day. Plus, if enough peoples complain about it or start exploiting the 20/20 mod (just like the good old rockmolder) it might get nerf down to make it less powerful.

Also, with the item drop quality increase, the price of things like this will drop even further. This morning, I created a ritualist and I had a gold hammer drop for me. The mods? +15 ench, 20/19 sundering, +30 health (not max dmg ). In the pre-sear equivalent area. I think it was off one of those level 12 yetis. Moral of the story? Ginormous drop in prices of weapon mods across the board forthcoming, methinks.

I love how people think that the economy is ruined because of the changes. lol
It's never been better. The changes will level the playing field.

Yeah the economies never been better, all these sup vigours and absorptions now dropping more often, there goes the point of rune farming. All the high end items dropping more regularly and of course all the existing f*cking greens been utterly shit. What exactly am i suppose to do with this Dragos Flat Bow and Victos Axe (customised) 10/10 other than shove them up your arse?

Against AL 100, 20% pen reduces AL by 20. AL is logarithmic; this should be the same as multiplying damage by 2^(20/40) = 1.41. So, a 41% increase, divided by 5 = 8%. To put it another way imagine an armor pen of 40, which would certainly cut armor damage reduction in half (since we know that every +/- 40 in armor is a doubling/halving), thus doubling damage.

This is incorrect, here is the quoted damage calculation equation (from GWOnline):

Quote:
Armor Modifier = 2^{ [ (Baseline) - (EAL) + GSM ] / 40 }

Where,
Baseline - variable value which is dependant on your attribute or character level.
EAL - The effective armor value after all armor changing effects are calculated.
GSM - General shift Modifier is where specific damage effects are used.
My calculations are based on this equation.

Actually, our results are the same:

Your extra 0.8812 per hit, from a base of 10.6375 with no AP, is an extra 0.8812/10.6375 = 0.082 = 8.2% extra damage

Good point :P

But with a perfect vampiric mod, you have a fixed:

3/10.6375=28.2%

:-)

Hear that? It's the words smallest violin playing just for you. lol
Let's see here. I don't farm, the farming that I did do was little and unrewarding since I didn't spend all my time doing it and I played that game as intended doing mission, quests, playing with builds and doing it all with different characters. The updates have affected me in any negetive way what so ever, and actually will make playing the game normally more rewarding for my w/e.

You say "there goes the point of rune farming"? Guess what? If you had bothered reading the interview with anets oppinion on farming you would have seen that they are against it. What do you thing rune farming is? It's a form of repetitive farming the the bot users and sweatshop farmers made money off of. It also made the economy imbalanced since it required repetitive farming (unless you got really lucky) to aquire the espensive runes. So the normal players got shafted and had to either farm themselves or pay large amounts which usually meant farming for the gold. So as I said, hurry and find new places so anet can nerf those too. I'll be sure to keep an eye out for highly prifitable spots and post them on all the forums anet has listed on their site.

Here is what i wanna know.. what about all the people that busted their ass grinding away to be able to buy the 10/10 stuff looking to put it on their new bow or sword or whatever.. they pay all the dough for this stuff and now they are screwed. I am sadly disappointed in A-net for not aleast letting it be known that some kind of sundering mod update was in the works. And i dont want to hear "if Anet had said anything it would have ruined the economy".. because it wouldnt have... it would ahave slowed the selling of those few items down... which would have been the fair and just thing for Anet to do. To many committed players are taking the fat stiff one on this sham of a deal.. Anet needs to figure something out!

Do you ever stop whining about farming? Are you upset that whenever you did it you never got a thing so you must therefore moan at us about actually doing it to get a bit of money?
I couldn't give a shit if Anet are against it, perhaps if they stopped screwing over drop rates making full teams a waste of time i might be more inclined to do a full B/P team to FoW rather than just do the solo forest run.
Face it, Anet RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO everything up on this game, there ratio of balancing to total screwing over rests at about 1:10 Meaning every 10 things they RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO over big time they actually balance something properly.
I can't even do a good old B/P team when i feel like it now that they've kicked MMs to the backbench with there latest nerf.

Well, I think if ANet just upgraded all the existing sundering mods, everyone would be happy. So 9/10 will become 18/20, 10/10 will become 20/20, and problem solved, imho...
